Information will be given on actual developments around the recasting of the EPBD Directive and how the directive can be supported by standards, which provides transparency and comparable technical assessments approaches in different countries. The conference will show successful examples of the use of the EPBD standards by a member state and related software. Furthermore results of the CENSE project will be presented and discussed. This should also be seen in relation to the recently decided revision (recast) of the EPBD. The existing standards are being used very differently in the EU member states. Some have implemented them fully, most have used some of the standards or excerpts of the standards and some others are not using the standards at all. On the other hand, there are many groups or organisations that would like to see more harmonized calculation procedures in Europe for evaluating the energy performance of buildings and HVAC systems.
